How does PickupChecker count a restock?

A restock here is apple.com flipping a configuration from “currently unavailable” to available for pickup at one of the 53 stores in California, seen by two of our checks in a row.

• Every Apple Store in California every 15 seconds; the stores alerts point at every 5
• A first “available” is asked again about a second later before it counts
• A listing that disappears is confirmed on the next round
• The first sighting of a store, a failed or timed-out request: never a restock, never “out of stock”
• Hours and dates in each store's local time (Pacific time throughout California)
• Only PickupChecker's own observations enter these numbers; the national page shows other trackers' launch-week reports as separate rows
• Updated about every five minutes; the restock log itself is live

You are welcome to quote these numbers with a link to this page; PickupChecker is independent and not affiliated with Apple, and reads the same pickup availability anyone can see on apple.com, just far more often.
